College VIPs

Two teams of Ruapehu College students who recently returned from a two week trip to Australia were treated like VIP's wherever they went, according to organisers. The girls netball and boys rugby teams played secondary schools and representative teams in b o t h Brisbane and Sydney, while still managing to

see some of the sights of both states. One netball g a m e against a Sydney team was called off due to a teacher's strike but the youngsters performed well in their other challenges. Co-ordinator Merrilyn George said the group were particularly awed by Sydney and will remember their stay in a "family" hotel situated in Sydney's King's Cross area.
