The Waimarino Rescue Helicopter piloted b y Jim Reed was called in to transport an injured woman from Mount Ruapehu last weekend. The j 22-year-old woman from Waiouru Military Camp was flown to Palmerston North Hospital with suspected back injuries. The Waimarino Rescue Helicopter was used on Wednesday to evacuate a 14-year-old Wanganui girl from Turoa skifields. The girl was a member of a party tobogganing

in the snow at the base of the skifield and received possible back injuries when she collided with a rock at around 1.00pm. Turoa's resident doctor examined the girl at the skifield medical centre before she was flown to Palmerston North hospital by 1 o c a 1 Waimarino pilot Jim Reed.
