Painting for council
One of the sponsors of this year's Ohakune Art Awards, the Waimarino District Council, is to benefit from a generous donation. Former Ohakune Mayor and Patron of the Awards Bill Taylor will present the Council with a painting from the exhibition to be displayed at the District Council's head office in Ohakune. Waimarino Mayor Garrick Workman will accept the painting on behalf of the council at the preview evening, to be held upstairs at the Ohakune Club on Sunday. The Ohakune Borough Council, which is now part of the Waimarino District Council, has sponsored the Art Awards since its inception in 1978.
