Ruapehu students on marae
Five students from Ruapehu college recently spend a week at Wanganui as part of the Community College Link Programme. They attended a Marae based course for senior rural Maori students, aimed at those w h o may be considering vocational options at the professional or semi-professional career level. The students experienced communal marae living and sharing while during the day they were introduced to a variety of vocational choices and investigated further choices of their own. Mathex One hundred and sixty teams from this region competed in a maths
competition recently at Wanganui Memorial hall. Seven teams of young mathematicians from Ruapehu College took part.
The students were excellent ambassadors both in appearance and performance with one third form team coming only three points behind the winners.
