Garden competition

Once again the Ohakune Garden Club is to run competitions for Ohakune gardens. The annual Civic Pride Award is open to all gardens in the Ohakune Ward including businesses, motels, schools and private gardens while there will be a club competition open to members only. The club has asked

the Waimarino District Council to donate shrubs or vouchers for prizes in the two competitions as well as appointing one of the judges. The Finance and Administration committee of the council has recommended that the club be givpn $100 for prizes, but that n o council judge be appointed.
