Hat trick for College player

Duane Dixon got a hat- trick for Ruapehu College soccer team last Sunday when the team beat Rangipo Prison by nine goals to four. Ruapehu College had

the advantage of strong wind in the first half and after the 45 minutes gained a 3-1 lead. In the second half Rangipo came back to trail by 4-3 and for 20 minutes Ruapehu pan-

icked to keep the lead. A goal-scoring spree by Ruapehu college relieved the home side and Duane Dixon completed his hat-trick with a superb goal. Jason Langdon crossed

the ball from the right which found Duane Dixon waiting on the penalty spot. His left foot volley nearly tore the goal nets apart! "It was a goal to grace the En-i/2 glish League" commented coach John McCartney. Craig Maru had an excellent debut. He came up from the second team to play at left back. The goal-scorers were: Duane Dixon (3), Brendan Gammeter (2), Paul Wagstaff (1), John McCartney (1), Junior Kaata (1) and Jason Langon (1).
