The warm bright and welcoming reception area that greets visitors to the QEII Army Museum in Waiouru. It has been known for weather conditions on the Central Plateau to be so inclement that they preclude skiing and discourage any other outdoor activities and, when these conditions prevail, a visit to the Museum is a rewarding alternative. In the forthcoming editions of Ruapehu 88 over the next few weeks we will be bringing you reports about various displays and collections in the Waiouru Museum.
