PARADE PLANS ALL SET
Tomorrow's welcome parade for the BP Europa FIS ski racers will be worth waiting for. Last night there were 19 confirmed floats in the parade and judging by the Waimarino's past record in imaginative float ideas there should be some interesting entries. Confirmed entries in the parade to date are: Bucks Drapery, BNZ, Homestyle (Kids will love this one), Ohakune Shoes, The Waimarino Brass Band (Our very own), Turoa Skifields, Powderhorn, Junction Ski Shop, Ohakune Primary School, The Sheepskin Shop, Turoa Taxis, SnowRange Tours (eyes will boggle), Ski FM, Ohakune Fire Brigade, Ruapehu Homestead, Rangitikei River Adventures and Cedar Tyre Services. Coming to Ohakune especially for the parade are the DB Clydesdales, the Manawatu Pipe Band and the Marton Brass Band. Racers will be transported in the parade in vintage cars provided by Country Classic Lodge of Raetihi. Organiser Glynis Helton says late entries will definitely be accepted, with all entry fees ($10) payable on the day. School entries are free. "Any clubs or businesses wanting to participate just have to be there. We would love to have you all," says Glynis.
