Stage One of renovations coSting $500,000 are underway to Raetihi Primary School. Principal Geoff Lovegrove said the renovations are 1 0 years overdue. By the time work is completed - the date optimistically set is the end of the term, Mr Lovegrove will have taken up his new position as principal of Palmerston North Primary School. The most costly part of the exercise is the replacement of the entire roof of the school which has been hampered by bad weather in recent weeks. The entrance to the foyer is due to be cobblestoned and landscaped within the next couple of weeks. A new classroom for special needs teaching has been addcd on to the existing building and classrooms in the senior block remodelled. Stage Two of the renovations includes the painting of the en-
tire school, due to take place next term. School fund raising Two of Raetihi Primary School's senior classes are busy fundraising for school trips in September. Fundraising activities include selling toasted sandwiches during lunch hours and weekly
discos held in the school hall. The discos held every Friday evening have been well patronised and are strictly supervised. The middle school is also fundraising for a forthcoming trip to the Turangi power scheme, through sausage sizzles held alternate lunch hours.
