RATES RELIEF FOR SOME

Rates relief for Waimarino sports clubs and organisations is on the way. At the last Waimarino District Council Finance and Administration meeting a recommcndation was put to full council that a 75 per cent rate reduction be given to seven organisations. They are: Ohakune Bowling Club; Ohakune Scouts, the A&P Association; the Raetihi Bowling Club; the Waimarino Rodeo Association; Ruapehu Lions; and Ohakune Plunket. The Ohakune Plunket discount is based on one quarter of the rates of their building as they share the property with three other groups. The Waimarino Golf club is offered a 50 per cent rate reduction.
