Waimarino County Call 80 years ago. Coopers Bioscope "The above company made its first appearance in Ohakune on Saturday night when a good audience greeted them. The entertainment is an excellent
one from start to finish. The moving pictures are worked in such a manner as to prove that the management are
anything but amateur in this class of entertainment. The pictures from the opera 'Mikado' are run to the music and the singing of that piece repeated by a large gramophone. The most important and interesting item was the performance of Nardine, the White Mahatma. This lady, blindfolded, answers and reads your thoughts
in a manner that is quite exciting. She gave some very correct answers to nearly all the questions that she got in touch with. Dr Rowe is a magician of high order -and his performance was greeted with very loud applause. The company appear in the Raetihi T o w n Hall this and tomorrow evening and all who love a good and clean entertainment should patronise them." News Item, W C C Monday 14/9/1908
