FATHERS COMPETE FOR YEARLY PRIZE
Ohakune dads will compete for the title 'Father of the Year' next week. The fund raising effort will be held at Hot Lava Wednesday July 27 and is being organised by the Ohakune Kindergarten Committee. Ten contestants have been selected and approached by the committee. All have accepted the challenge albeit rather dubiously, according to committee members. The committee says all that is required is a sense of humour, though brushing up on fatherly skills at home may be an advantage. The serious side of the evening is raising funds for the Kindergarten, which needs $1000 per month for basic needs. Also, committee numbers have dropped from 17 to eight.
