Bakers awarded

Wanganui's Home Style Bakery, Cutelli's Bakeries Limited has received a national award of excellence for its high standards of operation. Ohakune man Deryck Brown manages the bakery and says Cutelli Bakeries will be supplying this area in the near future. Homestyle bread has come from Palmerston North in the past. A brass p 1 a q u e outlining the group's mission statement is

the first to be presented by Quality bakers the company's parent group. It sets out the group's basic principle of striving for the highest standards of quality in production, customer service, product presentation, bakery operations, hygiene and community relations. At a recent award presentation Mr Brown said he was delighted that the bakery should be the first to be honoured in this way.

"During the past year we have tried very hard to achieve greater levels of quality, tightening up our baking operations considerably. The prime motivator has been to achieve quality in everything we do." Recent changes in staff enthusiasm and product quality, according to Mr Brown, have been remarked on by Wanganui residents who are enjoying, and benefiting from, Cutelli's new approach to baking.
