COUNCIL RENTS REVIEWED

District Council rents are to be researched by the district manager John Murrihy for the council. The rents were discussed briefly at a recent council meeting which had a review of sundry charges on its agenda. The review recommended increases to single pensioner flat rents from $15 to $20 per week. All other rents would remain the same including double pensioner flats rents ($20 per week), the town clerk's rent ($40 per week) and the district council engineer's ($20 per week). Committee Chairman Doug Bennett said there needed to be some concessions on council rents but that they had to be realistic.
