Currie Cres changes underway
Currie Crescent will soon be officially a noaccess street. This is on the advice of the Ministry of Works who i n t e n d placing bollards at the entrance to the Primary School, allowing only cyclists and pedestrians to enter. Originally the entrance was the driveway toNumbers 27 and 29 Currie Cres but over the years became a thoroughfare to the school. , Vehicles depositing ind uplifting children
will now have limited access through Ruapehu Road, which the MoW intend to upgrade in the near future. The closure of the street is a safety measure to avoid possible collisions with cars exiting from the school and street traffic. The news was welcomed by residents of Currie Cres. One woman said she feared for the safety of her children whenever they exited from their driveway because of a blind spot in the street.
