WAIMARINO RATES SET

The rate take as previously reported by the Waimarino District Council for 1988/89 was accepted by the council at the meeting Monday May 30. The overall rate increase from the previous year is 1.8 per cent in the Rural ward, 8.3 per cent in the Ohakune ward and 6.1 per cent in the Raetihi ward. Because of recent revaluations of land in the district individual property rates increases will vary according to the new valuations. "It seems that the overall increase is acceptable to the district," said Mayor Garrick Workman.
