COUNCILLORS IMPATIENT FOR SCHEME CHANGE

Councty Ward District Councillors called for haste with the disrict scheme change 88/1 introduction at the last full council meeting. The scheme change allows for much greater freedom in subdividing some county ward land. Mr Murrihy said there was no need to write to Mr Fox, the District's town planner, asking him to "make haste". He said Mr Fox was in effect ari employee of the council so only needed to be instructed to do what council wanted. Councillor Griffiths said he saw no excuse for the scheme change not being advertised by now. When the council first passed the scheme change, town planner Ted Fox said it would be unnecessary as there was a major review of the district scheme iminent.
