Mountain lodge opens
As part of this weekend's festival activities Turoa ski fields' new caterers will be opening the Alpine Lodge at the Ohakune Mountain Road end. The bar will be open and food will be available to give people a chance to taste what's in store for them this coming ski season. Because of the alterations that are under
way in the restaurant the food available will be limited but should be interesting says catering manager Chris Wood. Turoa plans to run buses up the mountain on Sunday and to run the Movenpick for scenic trips. This will be weather permitting. The Alpine Lodge will be open regardless of the weather and Chris Wood promises
to have the fires roaring so it should be a good place to spend time this weekend. Chris Wood will be managing the catering in all three cafes on Turoa this season. He is employed by Spotless Catering Services (NZ) Ltd who tendered for the catering contract earlier this year. The company is part of an Australian catering group.
