Under 19's keep the pressure on

Ohakune-Karioi under 19's played Utiku Old Boys at Ohakune on Saturday. The day was cold and overcast with no rain. From their kick-off Ohakune-Karioi were hard on attack. Two minutes into the game Dion Howe scored ■ handy to the posts after constant pressure from both backs and forwards. Regan Sue converted 6-0. Utiku Old Boys were on attack from kick-off and were awarded a penalty after the Ohakune-Karioi backs were within 10 metres from a line out. A dropped catch from a high ball saw Utiku Old Boys back on attack and once again Ohakune-Karioi backs were penalised for being within ten metres of a lineout. From a scrum near the Utiku Old Boy's line Vallance scored under the post with a helping hand from his loose forwards. Regan Sue converted taking Oha-kune-Karioi to 12-6. In the second half Utiku Old Boys' forwards started to domi-

nate the play and their backs were running well, eventually breaking the Ohakune-Karioi defence with a good driving forward try which was converted. With the score at 12-all it was anyone's game.

However OhakuneKarioi lifted their game and kept Utiku Old Boys hard on defence. Simon Nepe scored under the posts after continuous pressure from forwards and backs running the ball.

Regan Sue converted to take the score to 1812. In the last ten minutes Ohakune-Karioi forwards were in control. Regan Sue was named Ohakune-Karioi player

of the day, although both backs and forwards displayed a very good team effort. The Under- 19s play Wanganui Technical Old Boys at Ohakune next week.
