Historic gates stolen

Heartless thieves recently made off with "irreplacable" artifacts from the river settlement of Pipiriki. Conservation Officer Dennis McDonnell has appealed to offenders to return two distinctive wrought iron gates that marked the site of Pipiriki House - a grandious Hotel that, in its day, brought hoards of tourists to the tiny settlement.
