Top Golf

Top golfers from Waikato, Manawatu and the Waimarino will be hotly contesting the Waimarino Golf Club's annual 72 Hole Match Play Tournament this Saturday and Sunday. Once again the event has received major sponsership from Dominion Breweries. Confirmed entries have been received from 1987 champion Paul Fitzgerald, last year's winner John Gatley, and former

tournament champion Malcolm Wells. As in previous years, contestants in the open grade will play their qualifying round with no handicap allowances. All other grades will be contested on handicap. An added incentive for players this year is a hole-in-one trophy, donated by H. Huthance and Company. Interested players should contact the secretary of the Waimarino GolfClub.
