Under 19's lose 6-4 to Marist

Ohakune Karioi came up against Marist on the weekend, the game played at the Wanganui Racecourse. The Under- 19 team had a much improved game with both backs and forwards combining well. A feature of the game was good driving and

scrumming by forwards, with several tight heads won plus a great improvement on lackling by both fa forwards and backs. A lapse in tackling late in the second half saw Marist score under the posts, giving them a 6-4 win.

G. Barrett in his first game for the season, finished off a good back movement with an excellent try early in the first half. Unfortunately he retired injured at half time. Ohakune had Marist hard on defence in the last five minutes on

two or three occasions, just failing to score. W. Brown was named player of the day, with a good steady game controlling back play well. The Under- 19's travel to Waverly this Saturday for their next match.
