CASH FOR KETETAHI

The Tourist and Publicity Department has given the Department of Conservation $39,000 to upgrade the Ketetahi Track. The money comes from the department's Community and Public Sector Grants Scheme(CAPS) and was announced recently by the Minister of Tourism Phil Goff. Conservation Officer Neil Small said the money would enable DoC to work on the track next summer. "We haven't done anything to the track this summer due to lack of funds," said Mr Small. He said the track was in good condition only to about 1km below the springs. Turnpage 13
