Fresh fish fancies met

B Y LYNLEY WARD Fresh fish has retumed to Ohakune atter an absence of eight years. Since last Tuesday, Wholesome Foods has added a refrigerator stocked full of fish to its normal lines. As many as five varieties are available, including Bluff oysters, shrimps and crabsticks. Owner Phil Abel says that so far the response has been great.

Quips Mr Abel: "My major worry is that I'll eat all the oysters and eat away the profits, because I'm quite an oyster fan." He says adjustments will be made in his stock to meet the fancies of his customers. As business develops, he hopes to move into delicatessen lines such as smoked mussels, garlic smoked and chile smoked mussels. The premises was formerly used as a fish shop ruing the 1970s.
