Bowls trophies revived

History was relivcd on the green of the Ohakune Bowling Club last week, when two historic trophies were revived and contested. The Kerr's Rosebowl and Congrievy Steadman Cup, neither contested for many years, were put back into circulation after the decision was made by Ohakune Club members at their recent annual

general meeting. Taihape challenged and won the Kerr's Rosebowl by a slim margin, while Ohakune retained the Steadman Cup. Both clubs will meet again next year to contest the trophies. A mixed bowls tournament to be held in Ohakune on April 17 will mark the end of the 1987/88 bowls season.
