EASTER

Easter proved profitable for most Ohakune businesses that opened their doors during the long weekend. Large numbers of chalet owners took advantage of the favourable weather to return to the Waimarino to smarten up sections and make ready for the fast approaching winter season. Others flocked to the region in search of bargains at the many ski and ski wear saies over Easter. One that has been attracting bargain hunters to Ohakune for the past eight years, the Junction Ski Shop's Monster Ski Sale, was again a major attraction. Staff reported saies to be on a par with the 1987 Easter period.
