WAIOURU SCHOOL

Waiouru Primary School is operating with a full contingent of staff for 1988, with the appointment of four new techers earlier in the year. The school also has two part-time special needs techers. Earthworks at the site of Waiouru School's new hall are completed and the building stage of the operation is due to begin. The new hall will be situated between the senior and junior sections of Waiouru School in close proximity to both. Plans originally included the re-siting of an old naval hall on the site. Earlier this year it was decided to erect a completely new building with funds raised by the hall committee, the local community and Waiouru School.
