MAN AND THE WEATHER
Therc is absolutely no evidencc to support the theory that wire rope splicer 'Cyclone' Cedric, who has been at Turoa to work on the Movenpick Chairlift cable, has a dramatic and detrimental effect on the weather. He is a regular visitor to Turoa skifields and the weather has been known to turn nasty on the occasion of a number of his visits, but this must surely be purely coincidental. Evidence against the theory includes the movements of the recent Cyclone Bola. Our man was in the Waimarino at the time of the cyclone and yet Turoa suffered little damage. He did not visit Gisborne as malicious rumours have implied. The magnetic theory about Cedric Chambers and the weather are obviously untrue as he would not be able to handle wire rope if he were constantly attracted to it. Mr Chambers finished his work at Turoa last Friday. (Did someone say that's when the clouds started breakine?!
