40 HOUR FAST & BIKE RIDE

As part of this week's World Vision fund raising event Jim Lyon rode around Tongariro National Park on Saturday. He was sponsored in his ride by, among others, Fetzer Electrical and Stutz Cafe. He raised close to $200 towards the fund. Among people fasting for the children's fund this weekend are Ruapehu College students, Orautoha children and the Waimarino Christian Youth Group. About 15 Orautoha children took part in last year's fast and raised $170. Jim Lyon said while organisers were concentrating on last year's participants, other groups can contact him if they are willing to take part.
