HORSE SOLD TO USA SHOW JUMPER
Pauline Mowat's horse Avalon left NZ for Califomia recently, sold to a show jumping enthusiast who is a pupil of Butch Thomas, formerly a New Zealand representative rider. His American debut will be at the American Interstate Junior Championships. Four years ago Jimmy (Avalon) came off the race track as a typical race horse knowing only top speed, unable to ever stand still. "He is now a B grader due to the work, experience and determination of Pauline Mowat," said friend Jane Woodhouse. Avalon is now 12 years old and his new owner feels he is just approaching his prime in the show jumping world. With his exceptional ability over fences he should continue to uphold the good name of NZ show jumpers in the States.
