Teachers' action still on

Following a recent article in the Bulletin on the PPTA and NZEI industrial action Waimarino Kindergarten teachers have joined the fight. The three groups are against the proposed State Sector Bil'l in its present form. "All three orgainsa-

tions are unimpressed with what they see as a feeble placatory gesture from the government," said a spokesperson in a prepared statement. The statement refers to the government's amendments to the original bill, announced last week. "(We) will continue with planned industrial

action," said the statement. "All three teacher's organisations have, through their actions, registered their total opposition to the State Sector Bill and urge the wider community to lobby MPs. In this way the rightful educational inheritance of our children may be protected," the statement concluded.
