Town Planner to retire
Town planner Ted Fox is to retire. Mr Fox works for the Wanganui City Council town planning department, who handle the town planning for the Ohakune Borough Council. He is reported to be now on sick leave, and to be wishing to retire early for personal reasons. He is 55 and will retire from June 3. Ironically for the new Waimarino District Council the consulting firm of Payne Sewell Ltd have offered there services to the city council which, if accepted, could mean they would work for the WDC. Earlier the district council steering committee voted to use the Wanganui City Council planners over Payne Sewell Ltd. It is possible Mr Fox will work part time as a consultant for the council after June.
