Waimarino catholic parishioners who spotted Father Bernie Vella about town over the weekend may be wondering what happened to his stay in New Caledonia. Father Vella called into the Bulletin office to explain that he had returned to New Zealand to see doctors and, all going well, would retum to Pouebo in the near future. He passed on thanks to the many people that responded to his call for help for his melanesian friends who were hit hard by a recent cyclone.
