Principal support
I am writing to your paper to see how many parents feel the same as I do. At the Primary School at present Mrs E. Gould is acting principal, I myself feel that Mrs Gould should be given this position permanently. I feel this way as Mrs Gould knows the local children and their problems. She puts a lot o f time and effort into her job and I feel that she has the respect of pupils and parents which is needed if we are not to have the total farce that we had last year. As parents now is the time to voice our opinions not in six months time when the decision has been made. Concerned Parent Acting Principal Ellen Gould answers: "I am grateful for the support for the school shown in this letter, but I will not be applying for the job of principal when it becomes vacant. "I do not have the necessary qualifications to satisfy the Wanganui Education Board for the position of principal of a school the size of Ohakune. "I am happy to serve in my normal role as deputy principal." Ellen Gould
