Consistent success for bowlers
With the same polished form that has won ihem a string of games this season, the Ohakune Women's Bowling Club emerged victorious from their most recent challenge for the Pluck Cup, coming this time from St John's Hill. Ohakune won by a land slide, with a final score after the 21st end, of 30/7. The club has played consistantly well this season with many successes to their crcdit. Ohakune ha; the distinction of holding the Simonsen's Cup for the longest succcssive number of challenges. Ohakune lost the cup reccntly after holding it for 27 chal lengcs.
While rcgionally the. have displayed their prowcss, players are als' pcrforming well locally. Christina Kaiwhare (junior), Betty Hammond (intermcdiate) and Bcrnice Cochrane (senior) will be travelling to Wanganui early ncxt year to compete in the Champion of Championships singlcs for the Wanganui region, after winning their respective matches played at clut level. Nina Hays and Betty Hammond will represenl Ohakune in ihe 'B' pairs section of the championships.
