Tar-seal torn

Ohakune Junction residents who saw a local roading contractor's truck damaging the road seal outside Turoa Lodge on Saturday have called for the damage to be repaired. The twin axled heavy machinery carrier was seen doing a 'U' turn in the street. An eyewitness said the trailer wheels screwed

in opposite directions while the tight turn was completed, ripping up the seal and exposing the earth underneath. "I'm sure the contractor will repair the damage," said the witness. "The sealing in Thames Street is not very old, and to see it ripped up like that is a bit rough."
