Members of the Ohakune Women's Bowling Club were in grand form in their match against Raetihi for the Pluck Cup last week. Ohakune retained the cup, winning the match 27/13, but were hard pressed by Raetihi right-up until the 16th end. Ohakune's Vi Brown (skip), Bernice Cochrane (3), Rita Kaiwhare (2) and Christina Kaiwhare (lead) played Raetihi team Lyn Drinkwater (skip), Pauline LeNoel (3), Robin Scarrow (2) and Joy McCoy (lead). Both teams were evenly matched in what was an enjoyable game for spectators and players. A team of four travel to Rapanui this week to take part in the 'Westaway Cup'. Sunday saw the beginning of the junior and intermediates ,championship games, the winriers traveling to Wanganui later this year to take part in the Champion-of-Champions event.
