Waimarino dancers on "Telequest"
Watch Telequest '87 on television next Sunday evening 2 2 November and you're likely to see some young talent born and bred in the Waimarino. 'Spectrum Dancers', Janine and Susanne Mcllroy and Cherie Young, three talented dancers who have gained recognition for their 'hooked on can-can' routine, will be performing the number in the dance category of next week's programme.
One of the 'managers' of the girls Pat Mcllroy, said they have been practicing hard for the show with rehearsals every second day. The trio are understandably very excited about making their television debut. Finalists are chosen each week by viewers' votes which are cast on forms that feature in the Listener. If the girls are successful, they will appear again in late December and will be required to perform a different dance for the finals.
