Travellers help now available

Travellers to and from the Waimarino have a new service to call on, with the opening of an Auto-

mobile Association agency in Ohakune. The agency opened Tuesday last week in the office next to the Waimarino Bulletin, in the old Ruapehu Region Information Centre. The agency will be run by Kim White, originally from Hamilton, who has ^ lived in Ohakune for three years. The agency will provide information on activities in the Ruapehu region as well as on accommodation. For AA members the agency will provide the normal AA services such as providing maps and highway information, accommodation information and arranging breakdown services with the AA garages - Ruapehu Motors and H.E.Webb Motors. For Waimarino Residents Kim can help arrange travel for trips to Taumarunui or Toronto, or Tibet, as the Ohakune agency is to act as an extension of the

Taihape branch of AA Travel. Arrangements can also be made for AA finance and insurance through the Ohakune agency. The Ruapehu Region Information Centre, which was run by Waimarino Bulletin publisher John Sandford with financial assistance from the three Waimarino Councils, closed about three months ago. The premises for the AA agency are being provided by the Ohakune Borough Council.
