TUROA TUMBLER NEWS
Dean Drayton, Turoa Tumblers' only representative at thej National Gymnastic Championships held in Taita, Wellington, gained a team bronze medal in the Open Grade. He achieved this as a member of a composite team made up of gymnasts from Nelson and Christchurch that performed consistently well to gain third place. Rhys Langdon, Shaun McLean and Warwick Hays have been selected to represent the Wanganui-Man-awatu District at the Junior Nationals to be held at Tauranga in October - they go with the best wishes of fellow Tumblers and the hope that they will enjoy similar success. Unfortunately the highly successful "Vegymski Weekend" which is run annually by the Turoa Tumblers as a community promotion for the market gardening and skiing industry has had to be cancelled this year due to unforeseen circumstances. However, it is hoped that next year's week-long Intemational Olympic Course on gymnastics, proposed for Ohakune during Easter, which will bring in dele-
gates from Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Singapore, Papua New
Guinea and Australia, will make up for this disappointment.
