Sixties Sessions

An Auckland band called "Rebel Without Applause" is in our area this week, playing at the Ohakune and

National Park Hotels. The trio play to put life into a selection of sixties classics at the same time as striving to retain the authentic sound and feel of the time. The band is Rick Poole, vocals and guitar, Martin O'Leary, bass and vocals abd Brendon Fitzgerald on drums. Rick Poole's experience includes playing with the NZ band "The Tigers" and touring Australia on the Eric Burdon World Tour 1981. Ex-Londoner Martin O'Leary played in folk clubs at 15, formed band with Snowy White and backed Long John Baldry on UK tour. Brendon Fitzgerald has been drumming since he was 15, cutting his teeth in Wellington.
