Bull breeder prepares stock for Taihape
Raetihi farmer, 'Hobo' Alabaster's rising 2-year old Aberdeen Angus bulls are being prepared for this years annual Taihape Bull Sale, on 5 August. Mr Alabaster has been sending bulls to the sale for the last 20 years. This year, eight hearty bulls bearing the name 'Makato Stud' and 'Crater Trust Stud' will be transported to the sale. Mr Alabaster boasts at being the only bull breeder in New Zealand breeding stud cattle at 700 metres above sea level. The food is scarcer but the bulls are healthier, declares Mr Alabaster.
