Ohakune Police are investigating the burglary of a house in Old Horopito Road, overnight Saturday. Over $5,500 in property was stolen in the break-in. ★★★ A red BMX bicycle was taken from a house in Ballance Street, Raetihi, overnight Friday. Enquiries are continuing. ★ ★★ A brand new phir of skis purchased on Saturday were taken from outside of the Snowflake Cafeteria, at the top of the first chairlift at Turoa Skifields, on Sunday. ★ ★★ Overnight last Monday, the Sheepskin Shop in Clyde Street, Ohakune was entered. Nothing was taken in the incident. ★ ★★ Overnight Saturday, Dew Drop Inn in Clyde Street, Ohakune was broken into. Nothing was taken in the break-in. Ohakune Police reported a rise in the number of incidents of petty crime in Ohakune in the last week. Several incidents of property being removed from unlocked vehicles have been reported. Police advise that cars should be locked when'left unattended, even for short periods of time.
