Ruapehu College Soccer

The two previously unbeaten sides, Taumarunui and Ruapehu College played at Ruapehu on Saturday. Ruapehu scored first, six minutes after kick off when Glen Journeaux struck a hard shot from outside the penalty areaa. The game fluctuated evenly until Nigel Anstis scored for Taumarunui just before half time with a direct free kick struck over A goal by Ruapehu Captain Brendon Gammeter only 3 minutes into the second half gave them the ascendancy again. A further Ruapehu goal to Mathew Mowat gave them a comfortable two goal lead for most of the second half. With twelve minutes left Anstis gave Taumarunui a glimmer of hope when he scored his second goal. Mowat assured Ruapehu's victory however when he scored his second goal. Final score 4-2 to Ruapehu. Ruapehu play Turangi this Saturday at Turangi, 10.30 kick-off.
