Waimarino Golf
Results of play on Sunday 14 June. This event was the Kennedy Cup, Town versus Country, match play game, in which 30 members played. The result of the competition was a draw, all square. SponSors of the day, Parklands Restaurant and Fredericksen's Foodmarket, are thanked for their support. Individual play results were - Seniors S. Magee 67, P. Goldfinch 69, R. Southee 70, D. Windle 71. Juniors Colin Allerby 71, F. Bright and T. Donghi 73. Twos were scored by T. Frederick 3, A. Berridge 17. The senior bird's nest was won by A. Berridge 14-17, the roarer's mug went to S. Magee. Waimarino played Waiouru at Pearce Park on Saturday 20th in an interclub area final. Waiouru won on the day and will continue in the district competition. Our sponsors on Sunday were the Wellington Cafe and Benchmark, our thanks for their generosity. Sunday s competition was our first medal round and was won by Don Windle, also the roarer's mug. P. Goldfinch was runner-up, then N. Clarke, F. Bright, R. Parsons and T. Frederick Jnr. Twos scored by J. Ennis and T. Frederick Jnr. Next Sunday will be Captain v Presidents competition.
