Raetihi wishing well

Plans to cobblestone the g arden and seating area next to Dowman's 4-Square in Seddon St, Raetihi are currently underway with the Raetihi Borough Council and Rotary. The plans were made with the Raetihi garden club. The cobblestoning will be laid from the bus stop to the 4-Square. A cash donation of $100 from Winstone Pulp Industries and several other donations from businesses in the area have gone towards the cost of purchasing and installing 50 square metres of cobblestones. As yet no decision has been made on the colour of the paving. A wishing well constructed free of charge by Colin Fredrickson with building materials supplied by Neil McLean will be placed in the centre of the rest area. Plants and flowers will be placed over and around the wishing well to enhance the area. Councillor Leigh Ryland said the project will be funded entirely by the community if possible
