Senior B Rugby
Raetihi Senior B rugby team beat Taihape Pirates B team 13-7 at Taihape on Saturday taking the Cleaver Shield off Raetihi. In a good running game on a ground in top condition the two teams were even at the end of the first half with one try each. The score was 7-4 into the last quarter. Coach Wayne Te Huia who played on Saturday scored the try in the first half and a drop goal in the second half for Raetihi. The Raetihi coach said Rony Jensen and the McDonnell brothers played well in the forwards. Robert Harris, Stu Thompson and G. Pope also played well.
The coach was said to have been running like a young fellow on the field! Eight of the Raetihi team will be in the Northern Wanganui Senior B's rep team.
