The Waimarino was virtually incident-free over the last week apart from two motor accidents. Raetihi Police attended a two car collision at the intersection of State Highway's 4 and 49 at Raetihi on Wednesday. The accident occurred at 2.40pm when a vehicle travelling south collided with another crossing the intersection. Both cars sustained extensive frontal damage and the passenger of one vehicle received a minor cut to her leg during the incident. ★ ★ ★ Ohakune police and the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade attended an accident involving two cars on the corner of State Highway 49 and Burns Street in Ohakune on Thursday at 4.25pm. A north-bound Cortina received extensive damage to its side and had to be towed away, while the south-bound Holden Camira was also extensively damaged. No-one was injured in the incident.
