Lions clubs arrange exchange holidays

Ruapehu Lions Club are sending six children to Silverstream near Upper Hutt in May for a holiday. In return the Silverstream Lions Club are sending children to the Waimarino for a taste of life away from the city. The Ruapehu Lions are looking for families to host some of the children for their stay here. The Lions clubs are taking responsibility for transport for the

children as well as selecting those from this area to go to Silverstream. Children chosen for the exchange will be those whose family circumstances at the time would mean a holiday away is not otherwise possible. The idea is to show children from here a slice of city life in a different part of the country. Anyone able to assist the Lions in their project can contact Rod Winchcombe 58-396 for more information.
