Ohakune Bowlers victorious

Bad weather postponed both challengers' matches for the Simonsen's Cup and the Pluck Cup by Wanganui women's bowls teams Gonville and Helmore Park last Wednesday. The games were carried over to Friday and the results were two more wins to the Ohakune women's bowling club. Ohakune played Gonville in the morning and had a convincing win.

Ethel Allerby, Betty Hammond, Audrey Nation and Vi'Brown played competently through the entire 21 ends. Audrey Nation and Vi Brown then joined Nina Hayes and Rita Kaiwhare against the Helmore Park team for the Pluck Cup in the afternoon. In what was a very intense game with the score tied at 17 all in the last end, skip Audrey Nation clinched the game with her final bowl.
